Cara Pertama

1. Lakukan console pada router melalui hyperterminal.
2. Lihat dulu configuration register yang saat ini tersetting pada router :

3. Catat configuration register yang tersetting saat ini, kemudian reset router.
4. Sesaat setelah reset tekan tombol crtl + backspace + break untuk masuk ke NVRAM (mode rommon).
5. Setelah masuk ke mode rommon lakukan setting configuration register (confreg) ke 2142 kemudian lakukan reset lagi pada router sbb :

6. Karena konfiguration register dirubah ke 2142, maka router akan langsung meloncat tanpa melalui start up config sehingga tidak akan menanyakan password, sehingga kita dapat masuk ke menu konfigurasi router.
7. Setelah masuk ke menu konfigurasi router, lakukan setting ulang password dan kembalikan settingan configuration register ke settingan awal :

Router>ena
Router#config t

Router(config)#ena password newpass
Router(config)#ena secret newsec
Router(config)#config-register ox2102
Router(config)#exit

8. Klo dilakukan show version pada router maka akan terlihat bahwa bila router di reset makan config-register akan kembali ke settingan 0x2102 :

9. Langkah terakhir yang tidak boleh lupa adalah copy running setup ke start up setup lalu reload router :

10. Setelah reload, masukan user dan password yang baru saja anda setting. Good luck :)

Cara Kedua

cara me-recovery password di router cisco ( lupa password ). hayo dah mulai pikun ya …  wkwkkwwkk …

o iyak, singkatan pikun itu apa yak, ada yang tau ?
PIpi KUNing kah ? 

okeh …, pada kali ini, kita main di packet tracer ( biar ringan & Simple  )

buka routernya yang lupa password, kalau di ane seperti ini 

wokeh …, caranya gampang, cukup dimatikan, lalu dihidupkan kembali. maka akan tampil proses seperti ini

nah …, disaat proses sedang decompresing ( tanda “#” terus mengetik ) pencet kombinasi tombol CTRL + Pause Break . sehingga masuk dalam mode ” Rommon ” seperti berikut

selanjutnya adalah memasukan perintah ” confreg 0x2142 ” lalu ” reset ” seperti ini …

wokeh …, sedikit ane jelasin tentang apa itu ” confreg 0x2142 ”

confreg adalah singkatan dari Configuration Register. confreg sendiri adalah salah satu proses booting pada Router Cisco, nah …, sebelum si router sisko ini siap dipakai / dikonfig, membaca mode confregnya terlebih dahulu, baru deh siap dipakai / dikonfig, pada kali ini ane bahas tentang dua proses confreg yang biasa kita temui yaitu ” 0x2142 ” dan ” 0x2102 ”

mode 0x2142

adalah mode, dimana router akan mengabaikan isi NVRAM atau lebih tepatnya konfigurasi yang telah kita buat, akan diabaikan, jadi kayak ibarat manusia dimasukin mode 0x2142 amnesia deh tuh orang  dia kagak tau siapa nama die, die tinggal dimana, die kawin sama siape wkwkwkwk … 

nah, hal ini bisa kita manfaatkan untuk me-recovery password yang ente lupa 

mode 0x2102

adalah mode yang umumnya kita pakai di sehari-hari, router sisko, akan otomatis masuk dalam mode ini, jika kita telah membuat konfigurasi, dan ketika menyalakan router sisko tersebut, dia akan ” load ” konfigurasi yang telah kita buat di NVRAM
